Nazmiye Oral

Nazmiye started her acting career in the 90s with series like Baantjer, Combat, Oppassen! and Westenwind. She developed herself as an actress, writer and presenter. In 2003 she co-founded the Zina Foundation, they tell stories from suburbs throughout The Netherlands. At Zina Nazmiye played in De Gesluierde Monologen, The SuburbSafari (also in New Mexico and Juarez) and in No Longer Without You, a play she wrote herself and that was directed by Adelheid Roosen. She performed it together with her mother Havva and it was selected for the Holland Festival and Crossing the Line Festival in New York. No Longer Without You was also made into a documentary by Mijke de Jong. 

Nazmiye has over 70 credits, including in films and shows like A'dam E.V.A., Moordvrouw, Koppensnellers, High Flyers and in the television film In Vrijheid by Floor van der Meulen for which she received a Dutch Academy Award (Golden Calf) and Best Actress at the Lucania Film Festival. She was part of VPRO’s Zomergasten 2020 and was a columnist for De Nieuwe Maan and De Gelderlander. 

Recent films include Rocco & Sjuul, Summer Brother (Zomervacht) and De Zitting. Recent shows include Bonnie & Clyde, Swanenburg and Sleepers. She impressed with her leading role as Leyla Bulut in the 3rd season of the Netflix hitshow Undercover.

She just wrapped up the international blockbuster Den of Thieves 2, in which she plays Chava next to Gerard Butler’s O’Brien.
